Bucklebury Community Events
The Bucklebury Community Events Committee was originally set up in 2010 to provide a celebration for the village to commemorate the wedding of our local girl, Kate Middleton to Prince William. All our hard work paid off and the committee certainly delivered! A huge party was held on 29th April 2011 at Bucklebury Farm Park which was seen all around the world. We also produced a limited edition Emma Bridgewater mug of which we sold 2,500 to places as far away as Australia, Japan and the US. 350 mugs were given free to local children.
After the momentous event we decided to continue organising events for the village and as of today have celebrated the Queens Diamond Jubilee at Bucklebury Farm Park – although a little wetter than the Royal Wedding, ran quiz nights, wine quaffing events, Christmas Tree festivals and lighted up Bucklebury with tea lights.
We have also helped a women's group in Bucklebury (Tuesday Ladies Club) set up and it is now running successfully with monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of the month. We are also sponsoring a barrel of beer at this year's Bucklebury Beerfest as well as giving a helping hand to the organisers.
