BUCKLEBURY HISTORY GROUP
The group primarily exists to promote, research and document the history of Bucklebury from as early as possible to the 21st century and share findings with all those who are interested. We have oral recordings of memories from parishioners and a collection of old photographs in our archives, both in hard copy and digitally. The Bucklebury History Database, which assists in our knowledge of the people who lived in Bucklebury from when records began, is expanding. The current index count stands at approximately 17,000 records. Anyone wishing to look up anything on the Bucklebury History Database or who have any Bucklebury data which can be added should contact the group.
The memorial inscriptions for the Churchyard are in the process of being checked and, when completed, will, hopefully, be available in the church. The recordings for the cemetery are on-going – if there is anyone who would like to help with this project during the summer, please contact Helen Relf.
We have the 1851 census of Bucklebury and are trying to track buildings and families who were recorded. If anyone is interested in researching a particular area of Bucklebury then please contact Helen Relf.
